Class attire for theatre classes is as follows: modest, comfortable clothing and shoes that allows each student to move, bend, and sit on the floor. Please no dresses, skirts, or skorts.
Each theatre student will need a theatrical makeup kit to use during
the year. Theatre makeup is different than cosmetic makeup and is
important due to theatrical lighting. Therefore, regular makeup will not
be acceptable. If your student has a makeup kit, they may use their
current kit. Otherwise a kit will need to be ordered.
Kits may be ordered through the School of Performing Arts by the first
week of class. You may pay a $15.00 fee either at the time of registration
or during the first week of classes. Kits that are not ordered with the class
will need to be ordered by the parents and brought to the first parent meeting October 30, 2010. All kits need to be labeled with a permanent
marker on the kit itself with the child’s first and last name.
Theatre makeup kits come in the following colors: Fair, Medium, Dark, Olive Fair, and Olive Medium. Skin tones are unique. These kits allow
students to blend the colors in order to create the appropriate tone for
their skin. If you need assistance in knowing the appropriate skin tone,
please see your child’s teacher.
Kits can be ordered under the costume sizing section of the
Registration
Form.
